PERSONAL WORK EXPERIENCE:

1989 – Date

The management and operation of a geotechnical and environmental consultancy specialising in
advising clients on input to the design for major contract works, monitoring their implementation, and
the general assessment of geotechnical problems and risk analysis, associated with various civil
engineering projects. Projects include: The management and operation of a Trust and environmental consultancy specialising in developing
and funding innovative improvements in environmental practice. Projects underway or approved for
funding include: 1987 - 1989

Responsible for all geotechnical work in UK inter alia: 1985 – 1986

Responsible for all geotechnical design for Tsuen Wan New Town infrastructure. Leading a
multidiscipline team engaged in various development projects in Hong Kong including urban highways,
bridges, rapid transit systems, extensions to Hong Kong's container port. The design and assessment of
deep cutting retaining walls including anchored structures and the assessment of slope stability and
foundation design problems associated with urban and coastal development works.

1982 – 1985

Engaged on a variety of projects concerned with the redevelopment and reclamation of derelict land.
Executive engineer in the reservoir inspection unit involved reporting on statutory inspections and safety
aspects of large dams. Geotechnical design and supervision in chief of 14m high earth dam on soft
foundation. Planning supervision and interpretation of site investigation and geotechnical design for
Langkawi International Airport Malaysia.

1979 - 1982

The planning supervision and assessment of site investigations, and the geotechnical design for a
series of major coastal development projects. Supervision and direction of grouting cavernous ground
on Das Island and for design of rock cuttings and embankments associated with arterial roads in the
Oman mountains. Assisting in developing and implementing procedures to monitor and improve
material durability in Middle East conditions - particularly reinforced concrete and breakwater rock.
