Airwall Technology
Airwall Technology (AWT) involves controlling movement of ground gasses and vapours by manipulating air pressures and flows within the ground.
AWT is active and wherever ground gasses can penetrate, air can occupy the same pathways and prevent their progress. Input air pressures are low and do not present a risk of disturbing the ground.
The pressure of the resulting Airwall can be controlled so that it balances pressure of the ground gasses or it can be increased to redirect the ground gasses to venting well or similar controlled release measure.
The Airwall is offered by Environmental Partnerships (UK) Limited, a joint venture between Earth Science Partnership Limited and Prestige Air Technology.
In its first commercial application, the Airwall was implemented at a site with levels of methane reaching 25% where existing traditional barriers had failed to protect. Following rapid installation, over 400 residential properties were constructed under protection of the Airwall.
